What you can do with Nano Banana 2

Start from a written idea or from your own images. Name the subject, the composition and what must stay the same, then refine the prompt after reviewing the result.

Text to image

Describe a subject, setting, lighting and style to get a first version you can review and refine.

Combine up to 14 references

Upload products, characters or style samples and explain each image's role, such as “use the product from image 1 with the lighting from image 2”.

Keep characters consistent

Reuse the same reference images across generations and state what must not change, such as a face, an outfit or a color palette.

Put text in the image

Ask for headlines, labels or signs and put the exact wording in quotes. Check the spelling in the result before you use it.

Choose ratio and resolution

Pick from 10 aspect ratios and 1K, 2K or 4K output. The generator's size chart lists the pixels for each combination.

Fixed credits per image

Nano Banana 2 uses 4 credits at 1K, 5 at 2K and 6 at 4K, for both text-to-image and image-to-image. Failed generations are not charged.

Ideas to start with

Describe where the image will be used and how it should be laid out, not only the visual style.

Product shots

Upload a product photo and try new backgrounds, surfaces and lighting. Say which shape, colors and details must stay unchanged.

Social posts

Create square or vertical images around a post's topic, and leave room where you plan to add a headline.

Posters and covers

Ask for a layout with a clear title area and give the exact text in quotes. Use 2K or 4K when the image will be printed or shown large.

Character series

Keep a character's reference images in every request and change only the scene, pose or outfit you describe.

Nano Banana 2 or Nano Banana Pro

01

Nano Banana 2 (default)

02

Nano Banana Pro

Google's Gemini 3 Pro Image model. Switch to it in the model menu when fine detail, small text or a complex layout matters most. It uses 7 credits at 1K and 2K and 9 at 4K, and may take longer.
03

Compare on your own task

Run the same prompt, references and settings on both models and compare the results. Your history records which model created each image.

Create an image in three steps

01

Describe the image or add references

Sign in and describe the subject, setting, style and composition. With reference images, explain what each one is for and what to keep or change.
02

Choose settings and check credits

Pick the model, aspect ratio and resolution; the generator shows the credits before you start. Try 1K first, then regenerate at a higher resolution.
03

Review, refine and download

Check the result, adjust your prompt if needed and download the image. You can also continue editing from a result.

Prompt examples

01

Product scene

Try: Use the perfume bottle in image 1 as the subject and keep its shape, label and color. Place it on wet black stone with soft backlight and a dark green background. Square composition, no added text.
02

Poster with text

Try: A vertical poster for a jazz night. The title “Blue Hour Jazz” in large white letters at the top, a saxophone player in silhouette against a deep blue sky, and the date “Oct 24” at the bottom.
03

Character in a new scene

Try: Keep the girl from images 1 and 2—same face, red scarf and short black hair. Show her reading by a train window in warm afternoon light, illustration style.
